According to its vocation to promote research and teaching in the field of Marketing, AEMARK announces several awards, which are given annually at the International Marketing Congress
Below, the full bases of each award are explained:

1. OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN MARKETING AWARD
  1. The Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK) announces the Distinction for the Trajectory of the Marketing Professor, which will be awarded during the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK in Murcia.
  2. The distinguished professor will attend the Conference as a guest of honor, where he/she will receive a plaque accrediting the Distinction granted. His/her travel and lodging expenses will be covered by AEMARK up to a maximum amount of €800.
  3. All professors who have made sustained contributions over time (30 or more years) to the Marketing discipline, and who have had an active involvement with AEMARK and its foundational objectives, will be eligible for the Distinction.
  4. To qualify for the distinction, the candidate must be proposed by one or more AEMARK partners. All candidates must submit:

    Report (no more than four pages) indicating the merits of the candidate to be eligible for recognition.
    Updated curriculum vitae of the candidate.
    Three letters of recommendation.

  5. The candidacies for the Distinction, with the documentation indicated in the previous point, must be sent by email before June 4th, 2025 to the AEMARK coordinator of the award: Javier Rodríguez Pinto (premios@aemark.org).
  6. Those who propose a candidate accept the basis of the Distinction, and the distinguished professor is committed to participating in the award ceremony.
  7. The verdict will correspond to a jury appointed for that purpose, composed of five members of recognized academic prestige, who will have the documentation presented in the nominations of candidates.
  8. The decision of the Jury will be final.

2. AEMARK RECOGNITION FOR EXCELLENCE IN MARKETING

The AEMARK Recognition for Excellence in Marketing is created to distinguish those Spanish companies (or that develop their activity mainly in Spain) that, as a result of the application of effective marketing strategies, have excelled in their improvement in key indicators of growth and competitiveness, for being innovation leaders, or for the social impact of their marketing actions.
The bases of this Recognition are the following:

  1. Only one annual recognition will be granted.
  2. The award ceremony will take place in an event organized during the celebration of the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK in Murcia in September 2025.
  3. The Recognition has an honorary character, but the awarded company will enjoy the following benefits:
    1. Honorary plaque with the mention of Recognition.
    2. Dissemination by AEMARK of the Recognition on its website, newsletter, and any other appropriate media.
    3. Possibility of making public the Recognition on the company’s website, internal documents, and other communication actions.
    4. Chance to present your case as a “success story” at the business session of the next Conference.
    5. Opportunity to access a consulting session with members of the AEMARK Board of Directors to obtain professional advice on marketing issues that the company considers of interest.
    6. AEMARK support for young researchers to do internships/stays in the company.
  4. The applications will be submitted by email, sending the required documentation to premios@aemark.org, to the attention of Dr. Javier Rodríguez. The deadline for sending applications ends on June 4th, 2025.
  5. Candidacies can only be submitted by AEMARK members and each candidate must be endorsed by a minimum of five members.
  6. The documentation to be submitted for each application must consist of a report of a maximum of 3,500 words that will contain:
    1. Company’s identification and contact information: business name, address, and website.
    2. Executive summary of a maximum length of 500 words.
    3. Memory of the company’s activities and milestones in the field of marketing.
    4. Justified description of the effects of its marketing actions on awareness, value creation, innovation, brand value, internationalization, and/or social responsibility.
    5. Optionally, the report may be accompanied by an audio-visual document that complements the report with relevant information, with a maximum duration of 2 minutes.
  7. The jury will consist of five members of recognized academic and/or professional prestige, members of AEMARK, and appointed by the board of directors.
  8. The jury will assess the relevance of the marketing actions developed by the company and their impact on awareness, value creation, innovation, brand value, internationalization, and/or social responsibility.
  9. The jury’s decision will be communicated to the awarded company within a minimum of 30 days before the public award ceremony. Under no circumstances may the company make this information public before the award ceremony. The list of companies nominated for the Recognition will not be made public.
  10. The acceptance of the Recognition implies the commitment to attend the award ceremony at the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK to be held in September 2025.

3. BEST DOCTORAL THESIS IN MARKETING AWARD
  1. The Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK) announces the Best Doctoral Thesis Award, which will be awarded during the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK, held in Murcia, and is sponsored by ESIC University and AEMARK. A single prize will be awarded. Exceptionally, a second prize may be awarded to distinguish another outstanding thesis in the selection process.
  2. The author of the awarded doctoral thesis will receive a plaque and a diploma, as well as a €3,000 reward. In the exceptional case of granting a second prize, the winning thesis will receive a €2,000 reward and the second prize will receive €1,000. Half of the corresponding reward will be paid as soon as possible, and the other half will be subject to compliance with the commitment established in the following point.
  3. The winner of the Prize will assume the formal commitment to, within 12 months, submit a scientific article, based on the thesis or any of its parts, for publication in one of the scientific journals published by ESIC University, subject to the external evaluation processes established by the journal.
  4. The authors of the Doctoral Theses defended between May 16th, 2024 and May 15th, 2025 will be eligible for the Award. The thesis’ author must be a member of AEMARK. Likewise, at least one of its supervisors must also have been a member of AEMARK during at least a 2-year period in the last 4 years. These requirements must be met at the documentation’s submission date to qualify for this prize. The presentation of the application implies the acceptance of these Bases.
  5. The candidates for the Award must register at the Conference and, except for exceptional circumstances, present during its celebration a summary of the doctoral thesis.
  6. Before June 4th, 2025, the candidates will send by email to Sergio Román Nicolás (sroman@um.es), member Organizing Committee at University of Murcia, the following documents:

    (1) an anonymous copy (without author, director, or university data) in electronic format (pdf file),

    (2) a copy of the defense record with the qualification obtained,

    (3) the composition of the thesis committee,

    (4) the candidate’s CV, and

    (5) a brief report (no more than 300 words) justifying the relevance of the doctoral thesis and mentioning any evidence of quality that is considered important. All evidence of quality mentioned must also be accredited (European or international mention, awards, publications, etc.).

  7. The Conference’s Organizing Committee will make public the list of candidates for the Prize, with the titles of the doctoral theses as well as the supervisors’ names.
  8. The winner of the Best Doctoral Thesis in Marketing Award will be chosen by a jury designated for this purpose, composed of five members of recognized academic and/or professional prestige, including a representative of ESIC University. The jury will examine the documentation provided by the applicants as well as the reports for each thesis previously elaborated by two recognized experts.
  9. The announcement of the Prize will be made public at the Conference and will be final.

4. BEST MARKETING RESEARCH ARTICLE AWARD
  1. The Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK) announces the Best Marketing Research Article Award. The Association awards a first prize to the Best Article and two second prizes.
  2. The author/s of the awarded research article will receive a plaque and a certificate of award.
  3. The Research Articles published between January 1st and December 31, 2024, will be eligible for the Award. Only the date of printed publication will be considered unless it is an exclusively online publication. The research articles must address a topic relevant to the marketing discipline and have been published in high-impact journals in the field of marketing or related areas that are indexed in JCR’s first quartile (Q1).
  4. The proposal of an article as a candidate for the award together with the pertinent documentation must be sent by one of the authors, who must necessarily be a member of AEMARK. The same author may be a candidate with several articles, but in his/her name he/she may only propose one research article. Nevertheless, at least half of the authors of each article proposed for the award must have been members of AEMARK for at least two years at the date of submission of the candidacy. The presentation of the application implies the acceptance of these Bases.
  5. The authors of each research article aspiring to the Award will send a single message to the email address: premios@aemark.org communicating the wish to participate before 24:00 hours on June 4th, 2025. The message will include:

    (1) application for participation,

    (2) full reference of the research article,

    (3) statement that all authors of the paper agree to participate,

    (4) evidence of the quality of the proposed research article and the journal in which it was published, and

    (5) electronic copy of the publication.

    The subject/title of the message should indicate ‘Request AEMARK Award for Best Research Article’.

  6. AEMARK will make public the list of the research articles that are candidates for the Award, indicating their complete reference (authors, title, journal, and date of publication).
  7. The decision will correspond to a jury appointed for that purpose, composed of three researchers of recognized prestige. This Jury will fundamentally value the interest and contribution to the marketing discipline of the research articles, their methodological rigor, and the impact of the journal in which they have been published.

5. BEST PAPER OF THE SPANISH JOURNAL OF MARKETING - ESIC AWARD

  1. To promote scientific research with the highest quality standards, AEMARK (Asociación Española de Marketing Académico y Profesional) announces the Best Paper Award of the Spanish Journal of Marketing – ESIC (SJM-ESIC), which will be awarded during the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK in Murcia in September 2025.
  2. The author(s) of the award-winning Research Paper will receive public recognition during the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK, a diploma, and a €1,500 reward from AEMARK. When there are several authors, the distribution of this economic reward will be the responsibility of the authors.
  3. Research papers published in any of the 2023 issues of the Spanish Journal of Marketing-ESIC will be eligible for the award. Articles in which one of the authors has also been the author of a winning article in one of the last three editions will not be eligible for the award. In addition, if the authors of an article agree that the article should not be considered as a candidate for the award, they should inform the Editor-in-Chief of SJM-ESIC before June 4th, 2025 in order to exclude it.
  4. AEMARK will publish the list of candidate Research Papers, indicating their full reference.
  5. To select the winning paper, the two papers that have had the greatest impact on the published literature to date (Web of Science, SCOPUS, Google Scholar) will be pre-selected from each issue. Subsequently, an independent well-reputed researcher, appointed for this purpose by the Editorial Board of the journal, will select the paper according to the following criteria: interest and implications for the marketing discipline, originality and innovation, appropriate use of the methodology, and quality of the literature review.

6. BEST REVIEWER OF SPANISH JOURNAL OF MARKETING - ESIC AWARD

  1. In recognition of the important role of anonymous reviews and the significant added value generated throughout this process, AEMARK (Asociación Española de Marketing Académico y Profesional), announces the Best Reviewer Award of the Spanish Journal of Marketing-ESIC (SJM-ESIC). AEMARK and SJM-ESIC particularly welcome constructive reviews that enable authors to identify the main weaknesses of their papers and offer guidance on how to overcome these limitations to finally achieve the publication of a relevant contribution.
  2. A distinction will be given for each of the four issues published in 2025.
  3. The award-winning reviewers will receive public recognition, a diploma, and a €500 reward granted by AEMARK..
  4. Each award will be chosen for the revisions made to all the papers whose final decision (positive or negative) has been taken in the period corresponding to the acceptance of the papers finally published in each issue.
  5. The awarded reviewer of each issue will be identified using a criterion that considers three filters. Authors of each reviewed paper will select the review that has been most useful and interesting to improve their papers. The SJM-ESIC editorial board will identify the potential best reviewers. The final decision will be made by an independent well-reputed researcher with wide experience in review processes.
  6. The public recognition and award ceremony will take place at the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK in September 2025. The decision will be final and will be subsequently published on SJM-ESIC’s website.

7. SCIENTIFIC DIVULGATION IN SOCIAL MEDIA AWARD: “MARKETING IN 90 SECONDS”
  1. The Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK) announces the Scientific Dissemination on Social Networks Award “Marketing in 90 seconds”.
  2. The author of the best scientific dissemination video will receive an accreditation diploma and a remuneration of €500, financed by AEMARK. If the video is made by several people, the remuneration will be divided among them. If the jury deems it appropriate, one or two accesits prizes may be awarded.
  3. The author of the video must be a member of AEMARK at the time of sending the video.
  4. The video can be made by one or more people, but each participant can only appear in one video. In case the video is made by several people, all of them must appear in the video.
  5. Applicants for the award will email to divulga@aemark.org, before June 30th, the following documentation:
    Video recorded vertically with MP4 or MOV format with a duration no longer than 90 seconds. In the video the candidate for the award will appear explaining a marketing concept or answering a marketing question. The video must not include a cover.
    Name and surname of the applicant, university, and marketing question or concept explained in the video.
    References used to explain the marketing concept or question
  6. The video will be uploaded to AEMARK’s profile on Social Networks. AEMARK will reserve the right to not publish videos that it considers do not meet the criteria of scientific rigor and quality.
  7. The procedure for awarding the Prize will be based on scientific rigor in explaining the concept or answering the marketing question, the ability to reach a non-specialized audience, the creativity of the video, the quality of the video in terms of image, sound and audiovisual elements, and the diffusion of the video in social media. The verdict will correspond to a Jury designated for this purpose, made up of three AEMARK researchers.
  8. The award decision will be made public at the 36th AEMARK International Marketing Conference, to be held in Murcia, and will be final.

  3. The procedure for awarding the Prize will be based on the quality of the poster presented, considering the originality of the work and its contribution to the Marketing area. 11. BUSINESS RELEVANCE OF MARKETING RESEARCH AWARD
  1. ESIC University and the Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing (AEMARK) announce the Business Relevance of Research in Marketing Award, which seeks to recognize the managerial implications of knowledge generated by academic research projects in the Marketing area, thus promoting transfer and collaboration between scholars and practitioners.
  2. This prize, which will be awarded during the celebration of the 36th AEMARK International Marketing Conference in Murcia, aims to encourage the applicability of Marketing research presented during the conference and seeks to distinguish those contributions that produce significant progress in their respective areas of knowledge with direct relevance for marketing professional. The aim is to recognize the effort and dedication of the Academia, which through research contributes to the transfer of knowledge to companies and institutions.
  3. The authors of the Business Relevance of Marketing Research Award’s winning paper will receive a plaque, a diploma, and a €500 reward financed by ESIC University. The authors of the finalist papers will also receive a diploma (see point 5). All of them will be invited to contribute to the publication Unibusiness AEMARK – Transferencia de Marketing Universidad-Empresa with an informative article derived from their research work aimed at marketing professionals.
  4. All papers accepted for the Conference general program will be eligible for this award, as long as in the paper submission authors have expressly expressed their desire to participate in this call. Said participation implies that, in the event of being nominated as winners or finalists of the award, the authors commit themselves to submit a version of their paper for possible publication in the next issue of Unibusiness AEMARK – Transferencia de Marketing Universidad-Empresa, complying with the deadlines, writing guidelines and review process established by the journal. The presentation of the candidacy implies the acceptance of these Bases.
  5. The evaluation process includes both academic and business experts. In a first phase, ten papers will be preselected from those that in the review process received the highest scores in the assessment criterion about the interest of the research findings for their dissemination among companies and institutions. As a complementary criterion and to ensure academic quality, each paper’s total score will also be considered and a minimum cut-off score will be established to identify these ten papers (exceptionally, in the event of a tie, more may be preselected). In a second phase, preselected papers will be evaluated by a jury composed of experts from the business world, who will be appointed by both AEMARK and ESIC University. The jury will choose the finalist papers and, among them, the winner of the Award. In its verdict, the jury will take into account the practical application and the managerial implications of the research findings, its social impact and its potential for meaningful knowledge transfer to companies as well as public or private institutions.

12. GRANTS FOR LATIN AMERICAN RESEARCHERS AT THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETING CONFERENCE – AEMARK
      1. This call aims to encourage the attendance and participation of Latin American researchers in the International Marketing Conference AEMARK (Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing). With this purpose in mind, AEMARK offers the possibility of obtaining financial assistance to Latin American researchers who present the best papers or works in progress of this origin. The authors must send their papers or work in progress to be evaluated within the period established by the organizers of the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK to be held in September in Murcia.
      2. Authors who come from any Latin American country and are currently developing their research activity there may be eligible for the grant. The author who applies for the grant must prove his/her origin by means of a valid passport from a Latin American country. The application for these grants implies the acceptance of these Bases.
      3. To qualify for the grant, it is enough that one of the researchers of the paper or work in progress meets the requirements indicated in Point 2, regardless of the origin of the co-authors of the research.
      4. Up to a maximum of three grants may be awarded (maximum one per person and paper). The aid is intended to finance the travel expenses of the researcher from Latin America to Spain, who must necessarily attend the conference and be registered in it. Each travel stipend will amount to a maximum of €500.
      5. Authors who wish to obtain this grant must present a paper or work in progress at the 36th International Marketing Conference AEMARK to be held in Murcia. The application for the grant will be made once the evaluation process is finished, once the paper or work in progress has been accepted for presentation to the Conference. Applicants must send an email to aemarklatinoamerica@aemark.org communicating the wish to participate in this call, including:

      (1) a request for participation,

      (2) complete reference of the submitted paper,

      (3) declaration that the Latin American researcher who could receive the grant is not affiliated to any Spanish university, and

      (4) copy of the valid passport of the author who applies for the grant.

      The subject of the message should be “AEMARK – Request for grant for papers presented by Latin American researchers”. The submission of applications for this call must be made within 15 days from the communication of the acceptance of papers and works in progress for presentation at the Conference.

      1. The procedure for granting aid will be based on the quality of the submitted work, considering its originality and contribution to the marketing area, while also prioritizing the granting of the aid to those researchers who have not received it in the last two years. The verdict will correspond to a jury appointed for that purpose, composed of three researchers of recognized prestige. To make the decision, the jury will take into account the reports of the evaluation process of the Conference. The Jury will elaborate a ranking with the three authors to whom the aid is granted and three substitutes.
      2. The decision will be communicated in advance to the authors to whom the aid is granted, who before July 20th, 2025 will have to prove they have formalized their registration and booked their trip to Murcia to attend the Conference. If any of the awarded authors fail to meet this requirement, the grant will go to the next substitute. To make the grant effective, all travel expenses must be justified by an original invoice at the beginning of the Conference.
      3. The decision of the Jury will be final and will be made public during the celebration of 3the 4th International Marketing Conference AEMARK in Murcia in September 2025.

      13.GRANTS FOR THE COLLABORATION OF AFM-AEMARK RESEARCHERS
      1. To encourage international research collaborations, AEMARK and AFM have decided to fund research grants to help their members present joint common investigations in the partner association’s annual conferences.
      2. The aim of these research grants is to support research collaborations between at least one AEMARK member and one AFM member. The collaborators will present a communication at the AEMARK and/or AFM Annual Conference. The presentations are aimed at providing constructive feedback from a diverse and experienced audience helpful in better positioning the research for maximum impact. As the final objective is to encourage common publication in internationally ranked marketing journals, any topic that is appropriate for potential publication in such journals is eligible.
      3. AEMARK will fund two research grants of €500 (a maximum of one per AFM member and paper) to help AFM members attend the AEMARK Annual Conference and present a communication resulting from their AEMARK-AFM joint investigation. At the same time, AFM will fund two research grants of €500 (a maximum of one per AEMARK member and paper) to help AEMARK members attend the AFM Annual Conference and present a communication resulting from their AEMARK-AFM joint investigation. The grants are intended to fund the expenses of the researcher’s trip to the Annual Conference venue, including supplementing the required conference registration, and he/she must register in and attend the conference.
      4. The call is directed towards AEMARK members and AFM members and is open to junior as well as to more senior researchers. Researchers who wish to obtain this grant must submit a proposal describing their work in progress or paper before a deadline (see Appendix 1) and indicate which conference(s) they wish to attend.
      5. A joint Scientific Committee consisting of four members, two from AEMARK and two from AFM will review all proposals. Prospective members of the committee include the president and the international relations representative from AEMARK, and the vice-president for international relations and the ambassador for Spain from AFM. When a member of this joint committee co-authors a proposal, the association he/she represents will appoint another of its members as replacement. The procedure for awarding grants will be based on the quality of the work presented, taking into account its originality and contribution to the marketing area.
      6. The supported proposals will be announced to the memberships through AEMARK as well as AFM Newsletters. Also, winners will be announced at the next AFM Congress and AEMARK Annual Conference in which their paper will be accepted for presentation and included in the program by the local organizers.
      7. Authors would have to acknowledge that the research was funded by the AEMARK-AFM Collaboration Agreement in all publications resulting from the research.

      Appendix. Requirements for Submission of Proposals.

      PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE WRITTEN IN ENGLISH and sent to gregorio.fuschillo@kedgebs.com and grants@aemark.org.

      In the communication management system, authors must explicitly state their intention to be in receipt of these grants and include information, especially the authors’ names and addresses (including email addresses) and affiliations of all authors, etc. Please designate two potential beneficiaries of the grants (one AEMARK member and one AFM member) and provide phone and fax numbers for each of these two persons as well. Submitters will of course receive an email acknowledgement. The authors could submit the same written communication, but they should take advantage of the opportunity to present at two different congresses several months apart to showcase their project’s progress at each event.

      The file/s will be configured according to the upcoming International Congress de l’AFM Guidelines. Proposals must be received no later than 30 November 2025. Submissions will be acknowledged via email. Co-authors will be notified in maximum four weeks after that date.
